FAQs

  • Simply put, we look for tutors who are committed to ADDING VALUE through each and every session - be it through developing a student's understanding, improving their grades, boosting their confidence or even simply sparking a love and curiosity for the subject.

Professionalism, reliability and preparation are key expectations of our clientele. Beyond this, our students appreciate creative, interactive and spontaneous approaches to tutoring that keep them engaged and eager to learn. A sense of humour goes a long way, we've found.

  • Our Hiring Team is always keen to get back to our candidates ASAP, but we do have a high volume of applications throughout the year and so we kindly ask that you are patient. We appreciate every candidate's interest in tutoring with us and the time they have invested into applying.

  • The general process at Atheridge comprises a set of steps followed by the AT team, leading to successful client-tutor pairings:

    1) When a tutor joins the team, their profile is added to the AT database.

    2) Consultants use the database to select the right tutor for each AT client - if a tutor's profile is found to be a match, they are contacted with the relevant opportunity, its details and rate.

    3) If the tutor is interested, the client will be sent their tutor profile & availability - the tutor will be updated with the client’s response and preferred date & time for the trial session. Tutors are paid in full for trial sessions.

    5) Following the trial session, a consultant will gather both the tutor's feedback and the client’s.

    6) If positive, the client will be sent the tutor's availability - the tutor will be updated with the client’s preferred dates & times, going forwards.

    8) The consultant will schedule future sessions into our Tracking System and oversee that everything is running smoothly.

  • Yes, you may, but keep in mind that our Hiring Team will evaluate your application, experiences and tutoring style to determine where best to place you, if they choose to take you on board. Many of our tutors receive opportunities for a variety of levels/ subjects - this is the case if Consultants find the tutor capable of successfully fulfilling the client/ student's requirements.

  • Majority of our tutors are self-employed and work on a freelance basis. This means they are able to pursue other endeavours or roles outside of Atheridge, as long as they fully committed to the students they choose to tutor with us (even if that constitutes as little as 2 hours per week). They may be provided with more opportunities and have the freedom to say yes or no to taking them on. This element of flexibility is one of the prime merits of working with Atheridge, we've been told.

  • It absolutely depends on demand for your particular subjects/ levels, the client's requirements and how well your profile and character match them, your history of retaining clients with similar requirements and several other factors.

That's usually not a problem for our tutors - if they are given too many opportunities, they can choose not to take them on, and if they are given too little, they have the flexibility to pursue other roles alongside Atheridge, whilst waiting to be presented with more.

  • The more opportunities you take on and the more positive feedback we receive regarding your tuition, the more clientele you are provided by our Consultants and the higher your rates will be, as you would have proven your ability to engage and retain your students.

  • Yes, you may. This will not affect the number of opportunities your receive from us, as long as you are showing the same commitment to your students.
